The Mystic Seaport True Maritime
Adventure Series brings you books which are rare and have been out of print for many years. In the earliest days of the Seaport some of these titles, gleaned from the growing manuscript collection of the new museum, were printed in limited editions and given to members as a token of gratitude for their support of what was then an undertaking almost unique in the museum field. The present series reproduces these books as they were then printed, with no apologies for typographical errors or an often appealing quaintness of style. Only the covers are new, and it is the hope of the editors that what the reader finds between the covers will appeal to him the more because the material has not been changed.
