The Wisconsin Chapter NRHS is one of the oldest and largest chapters of the National Railway Historical Society. In addition, the chapter is affiliated with the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. The chapter publishes a monthly newsletter Sparks and Cinders, filled with historical and current event railroad articles from Wisconsin and around the country. We invite you to join us by attending one of our meetings, held the first Friday of each month at 7:30 pm, except during the summer, at the North Shore Congregational Church, 7330 N. ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
As a native of Racine, Wisconsin, Bob Baker was fortunate to have parents that nurtured his love of railroading. Whether it was a trip on the North Shore to ride the Milwaukee route 10 streetcars or a visit to the library, trains have always been a family affair.
Wisconsin Rails II: A Passage of Time is the fourth railroad book authored by Bob Baker. In addition, he has written numerous articles published in various magazines. An accomplished photographer, Bob has also given slide presentations to numerous organizations, as well as appearing on the television program "Tracks Ahead". An unabashed fan of the Chicago and North Western, he served as Production Manager of North Western Lines, the quarterly magazine of the C&NW Historical Society, for many years.
