PREFACE
Publication of this book has been sponsored by members of the Welsh Highland Light Railway (1964) Ltd with the kind co-operation of Mr. Charles E. Lee, who wrote the original book Narrow-Gauge Railways in North Wales, published in 1945. The text is based on the relevant portions of that volume, revised by the author and amplified by information supplied by various members of the Company.
It is hoped that this book will give more information to those narrow-gauge enthusiasts who knew the Welsh Highland Railway in its heyday, and to those of a later generation who wish to learn a little of its history.
We trust that the addition of extra photographs to those included in Narrow-Gauge Railways in North Wales has been worthwhile. New material and photographs will always be welcomed by the publishers for any future editions.
