In this rare opportunity to see it as it actually happened in tree late 1920s, you can watch the topping of tall spar trees, steam donkeys moving themselves to the next setting, and Shay locomotives working their trainloads of logs down grade across high trestles. Finally, see the sawing of huge logs into various lumbers before loading them on schooners in Newport for shipment to far-off markets. In film shot along Oregon's central coast in Lincoln County, the logging operations of the Manary Logging Co. and the sawmilling activities of the C. D. Johnson Lumber Co., both subsidiaries of the Pacific Spruce Corp., are pictured in lively detail.
