UP The Streamliner Volume 32 #3 Union Pacific Historical Society
The Streamliner is published quarterly. On the Cover: Eastbound Union Pacific-Missouri Pacific run-through manifest symbol BKG (Bailey-Kansas City-Gateway Yard St. Louis) approaches Marysville, Kansas, on November 5, 1981. Union Pacific and Missouri Pacific had been operating run-through trains since 1970, but run-throughs such as this would become single line hauls once the UP-MP-WP merger was approved a year later. The Gibbon Cut-Off route through Marysville would then become a critical post-merger link between the two railroads. Jim Watson photo
