Class Roster of Freight Cars
This is a data reference book. It is the first time that this information has been arranged in this manner on the current Union Pacific freight car fleet. Its purpose is to provide historians, enthusiasts, and modelers with a quick reference guide to this massive fleet.
METHODS
Information provided in this book was derived from many thousand sightings of individual freight cars currently lettered for the Union Pacific fleet. Each car sighting usually comprised of data for each of the categories listed in the main roster section. These data were then tabulated, correlated and finally compared to railroad sources for completeness and accuracy.
The roster was then reviewed nearly one dozen times for errors and additions. While every effort has been made to eliminate errors - I'm sure because of the quantity of data (over 100,000 cars are being rostered here) that a few errors will exist.
All pictures are of the actual item. There may be reflection from the lights in some photos. We try to take photos of any damage.
