HOW TO USE THIS INDEX: Photographic essays and salons usually have been indexed two or more timesonce by the title under which they appeared, and again under the photographer's last name. If they are of a single-railroad subject, they are also indexed under the carrier's name. Individual photos, including those in "Click!," "Picture Show," "Through Your Eyes," and those in multi-subject articles, have been indexed by photographer and railroad. Introductory paragraphs written by staff members for others' photo salons are indexed by photographer and title but not by the staffer's name. Regular features such as "Fallen Flags Album, "Final Frame," and "the Pioneers" are indexed under subject name, individual photographer's name, and participating staff member's name. Items from foreign countries (other than the United States and Canada) are indexed under the country. Numerals are indexed in alphabetical order as if spelled out; "article" words (a, an, the) are omitted when alphabetizing an index.
All pictures are of the actual item. There may be reflection from the lights in some photos. We try to take photos of any damage.
