Interesting Facts and Figures of the Scandinavian Lands 79
For many years the writer has travelled thousands of miles throughout the Scandinavian lands by train and public transport, from Bergen in the South, to Bodo and Narvik in the North. The trains make travel a great pleasure, and even above the Arctic Circle, in Norway, Finland, and Sweden, they form an important link for trade and those more fortunate individuals who have fallen in love with the Nordic lands.
The efficient railway network covers an area as far north as Alaska and the Arctic tundra of Canada and Siberia. And only in the train can one relax and admire the scenery or watch with interest as the local farmers, tradesmen, or children alight at a small station situated amidst some remote mountains.
This book gives valuable information for tourists wishing to visit Oslo, Stockholm, Trondheim, Kiruna or Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland.
There is also detailed information on the famous BERGEN RAILWAY and the scenic FLA M RAILWAY, which are probably two of the most beautiful lines in the world.
