Our Fifth Issue: It hardly seems that five years have already passed since we published our first edition of the Traction Yearbook. Many changes. in the electric traction world, in our business and, of course, in my personal life have taken place. And, I'm a bit older now (and hopefully wiser), having crossed the "Big 40'. long ago.
The world of electric traction continues to grow and grow, and Traction Yearbook is growing with it. With each new issue, we notice that it is being purchased more and more by those employed in the transit industry on a worldwide basis. This is a sign to us that the Yearbook is a valuable source of information for the industry. TY '85 is our first inside-color issue, and we hope you enjoy it. While the Yearbook's price had to increase to add the color, we believe it is worth the additional cost. Most photos in past issues were originally color slides; we were saddened when converting them to black and white because so much was lost. Now, color slides will be printed as such while the excellent black and whites we receive will continue to grace our pages.
