Front Cover: Chicago & North Western Train no. SHLTX with Soo SD6Os 6030 and 6016 drops downgrade into Port Washington, Wis., with 110 coal empties en route to Butler, Wis., over C&NW trackage. The lead unit was unable to be started, so the trailing unit is the sole power for the train, a testament to the hauling ability of a single SD60-Joe Lallensack.
Back Cover: A switch run is leaving the Port of Minneapolis yard at Camden Place, Minn., on April 2, 1992, powered by GP30Cs 4300 and 4302-John Leopard.
