The Mainstreeter Northern Pacific Ry Historical Society Vol 40 #2 2021 Summer
The Mainstreeter is published quarterly. On the Cover, Front cover: Bell clanging and horn blaring, Spokane-Lewiston train 311 makes a grand entry into Pullman, Wash., at 9:59 a.m. on a June day in 1965. Budd Rail Diesel Car B-30 is the "regular" on the run, but today's train is an expanded consist behind two GP9 road switchers, perhaps to accommodate a special group movement. Taking it all in from the caboose of the Pullman switch job is veteran conductor Art Kentoph, who will retire later that year after a lifetime of service to the Northern Pacific.
