The Mainstreeter is published quarterly. On the Cover, Main photo: Bay window caboose 1579, which began life as a 36-foot boxcar, graces the end of a Northern Pacific local at Rush City, Minnesota in the 1950s. The 1579 survived into the Burlington Northern era, but was dismantled in 1971.
