Seventy five years ago, in the Depression years of 1930 - 1932, railroads were the leaders in transportation across the United States. Many brilliant, farsighted, historic leaders in business, banking, law, politics, and government influenced the railroad industry. Much of the research for this monograph comes from a huge box of material, dating from the late 1920s to early 1930s era which originally belonged to Halsey, Stuart and Company in Chicago.
