Why so colorful a railroad as the Soo became neglected in the annals of history remains a mystery. Here the meticulously clean locomotives barked with squareness unsurpassed by any railroad in America. The international flavor of its passenger trains coordinated with the Canadian Pacific via the Canadian Rockies still offered an unparalleled experience in rail travel. The Midwest was abundant in colorful roads, and this perhaps lessened the interest in the Soo. Whatever may be the cause, it is my wish that "Steam Trains of the Soo" will historically switch the Soo "to the main" where it rightfully belongs.
