It may become the prototype for new colors for the entire fleet of SP diesels, but durability will be tested on this unit alone for a year before a final decision is reached. In contrast, the view of #6371 at Taylor Roundhouse in Los Angeles was taken by John Shaw in 1958, showing the ultraconservative \"halloween\" colors applied to a few engines of almost every type during an economy drive.
