COVER
With Utah's Wasatch Mountains in the background, an eastbound run-through train leaves SP's yard at Ogden. The CRT (cathode ray tube) display shows the inbound lineup of trains into Ogden - information that is taken from the computer. The symbol, 1EUNPY. means first section of a manifest freight destined from Eugene, Oregon, to North Platte, Nebraska (on the UP). Other computer data gives the train's horsepower, estimated time of arrival at Ogden, names of engineer and conductor, number of loads and empties, tonnage and length.
