This special issue, containing the summary report of Southern Pacific's Annual Meeting (pages 6-11), is again being sent to our stockholders, as well as active and retired employees, with the hope that the content will be of general interest.
Also included with this special issue of the Bulletin is a copy of "The American Economic System ... and your part in it." This booklet, prepared by The Advertising Council and U.S. Department of Commerce, offers a simple explanation of the American economic system and how it involves us.

One of Southern Pacific's intermodal trains prepares to leave the Los Angeles Transportation Center on a run to Northern California and Oregon. The railroad loads and unloads intermodal containers and trailers, and automobiles, on a 24-hour basis at the I77-acre center, conveniently located in downtown Los Angeles.
