SCL News is published by the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Company for its employees, as a source of information about the Company, and in appreciation for the loyalty, cooperation and performance of all whose efforts contribute to just pride in the services rendered to its customers and to the public by the railroad.
Cover Story, More than 500 persons gathered on May 18 in a pine clearing near Palatka Barge Port, about 3 miles north of Palatka, Florida, for the railroad's annual "Forestry Day" and the presentation of an Environmental Field Day Program concerned with the needs of tomorrow. On the cover Florida's Governor Reubin Askew is addressing the assembly. The story appears on the inside back and back cover of this issue.
