The Convair B-58 Hustler was the world's first operational Supersonic Bomber envisioned as a strike aircraft capable of flying higher and faster than Soviet interceptors, the advent of accurate Surface to Air missiles by the Russians forced it into a low level strike role, greatly reducing its operational value. We examine the Hustler in detail including an extensive walk around and rarely seen images from the archives of the US Air Force.
