Santa Fe Railway News is published monthly. About the cover: As a show of support for employees and their family members stationed in the Persian Gulf, Santa Fe placed the image of the United States flag on each of its 1500 locomotives. The first flag decals were placed on locomotives at Kansas City and Barstow on February 4, 1991. Working on the application of the decal, in the two lower photos, are Bill Kramer, painter (with burnisher), Elmer G. Hinton, truck operator, and Raymond Loya, tennant operator (at ladder).
