ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES
A little summary on how this book is laid out would no doubt be helpful to those of you using this for reference. As you can see by the Table of Contents, with the exception of Timetable 3, the rest of the schedules are segregated by division or branch as the case may be. Due to the condition of Timetables 1 and 2, it was not feasible to reproduce or start with Timetable 1. With the exception from October 13, 1903 thru October 4, 1908, all changes to the timetables are shown excluding where only a few minutes differences is shown from one timetable to the next and it did not materially affect the schedules of connecting trains within the railroad. You will note that the effective date of each schedule, where needed, has been written in on the upper left hand corner of the schedule. If not, the schedule to the left of it has the effective date. I'm sure you are aware of this and am only passing this along for what it is worth.
Of interest to some of you are the listings of Second Class trains which include the local as well as the thru freights. In most cases, the local freights are eliminated in the timetables in Timetables 84 and/or 85. They then became Symbol Freights such as BR-1 and RB-2, the Burlington-Rutland Locals, etc. 1950 saw some of the thru freights become Symbol Freights also. 1953 appears to be the year numbered freights disappear entirely from the line.
