Many railfans know the name Robert F. Collins, a dispatcher for the Erie Railroad, as a prolific photographer of Eastern railroads. He passed away in 2001, but took eleven trips to Colorado to photograph the Denver and Rio Grande Western narrow gauge between 1948 and 1962. Likewise, Emery Gulash is noted for his motion pictures of seemingly every railroad in the country. In his 80's now, he also made eleven trips to Colorado, starting in 1958. These trips were often in conjunction with a special passenger excursion. The slides of both these gentlemen, now in the Morning Sun Books Collection, form the core of this volume: Rio Grande Narrow Gauge in Color.
