This volume contains information obtained from an examination of the annual reports, for the year ended December 31, 1922, made to the Public Service Commission by all of the corporations and persons subject to the jurisdiction of the Commission throughout the State. All of these reports have been received by the Commission since February 15, 1923. If further information from the reports of any corporation or person is desired, the Commission will furnish the same on request.
Statistics taken from the annual reports of lighting corporations in New York city have been placed together in one section of the volume, beginning on page 879. Statistics covering other reporting corporations are grouped in various related classes, the order of arrangement within each group being either according to operating revenues for the year, or alphabetically. When arranged according to operating revenues and there has been receivership or other change in operation aside from the original corporate control for a portion of the year, the average operating revenues for the entire year, covering both operations, determine the rank.
The Contents Pages indicate the general arrangement of the statistical information by groups of corporations. The analytical Index at the back of the volume will furnish a guide to the information affecting any particular corporation or person.
Information as to the organization of corporations, including corporation changes during the year, control, names of officers, principal office, and other information not contained in the tabulations, will be found in the Introductory Statement preceding each main group of corporations.
