ClarkFew enthusiasts will not be familiar with the Liverpool & Manchester Railway's Lion, one of the first two locomotives constructed by what was to become Kitson & Co Ltd of Leeds, one of Britain's steam locomotive building companies. The firm's enterprising attempt to develop a steam/diesel combination was contributory to its financial decline during the 1930s, and withdrawal from locomotive construction.
