Railroad improvement programs will continue throughout 1954, A.A.R. President William T. Fancy declared in his year-end statement. In it, he also pointed out that "results of railroad operations in 1953 were strikingly similar, in most respects, to those of 1952," but that the year just ended was a record one in several categories.
