Rails South is published bi-monthly. OUR COVER: The Tradewater hauled grain the first run, but it was all coal on the 14th and 15th of March this year as the shortline moved a substantial amount of coal from Pyro Mine near Wheatcroft, Ky. to the LAN connection at Providence. Jerry Mart took the photo.
Ten years ago LAN FP7A 673 leads the consist near Kelly, Ky. The unit originally was Chicago A Eastern Illinois No. 1603, then Missouri Pacific 936. Jerry Mart took the photo.
