A train drifts into the Owen, Maine, yard on Al Askerberg's On30 OT&W. The track is hand laid with code 83 rail. Except for the loco and the auto, everything is scratchbuilt. The Photo was made with an 8 Megapixel Nikon CP8400. Lighting was overhead fluorescent shop lights with a 300 watt bare bulb located high on the right side to simulate sun light. Focal length was 7.5mm with exposure at 1/6 second at f/7. A photo of a real sky was superimposed over the plain backdrop. Minor enhancements were added in PhotoShop post-processing. The goal is to produce a realistic photo of the scene in an effective composition. For more of Al's photographs, see page 44.
