It happened about 18 months ago and the writer had attended the annual staff Christmas luncheon, had departed, and was on his way home, when our gendarme friend spotted the car which was traveling too fast. In the course of conversation, our errant writer mentioned that he was coming from the RMC luncheon, etc., etc., and the cop, an ardent HOer, started plying the questions on model construction. So, being an RIVIC writer saved one author from a good old New Jersey unfixable ticket.
