A 1500 horsepower diesel-electric road locomotive. Forty-five of these were built by American Locomotive Company for Gulf, Mobile & Ohio freight service between St. Louis and Mobile. The "1500" can also be operated in multiples to deliver 3000 or 4500 horsepower.
