Changes in Aroostook County
Photographer Shawn Duren reflects on the changes in Aroostook County, Maine. Once the home of the famed Bangor & Aroostook, this northern-most Maine territory has undergone radical change. With the loss of the BAR, and the coming of the Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway, railroading in this part of the State of Maine has changed forever, but the scenery is still spectacular. Shawn has explored the Aroostook County back country in the modern era like few have, and takes the reader to places off the beaten path. J


Corridor Legacy
In the 1970's, Conrail & Amtrak still operated an eclectic mix of diesel and electric freight and passenger trains on the Northeast Corridor in the time-honored method of the once-almighty Pennsy. Photographer Tom Carver takes us on a trip back in time to explorer a gritty but colorful era in Northeastern railroading.
