he Algonquin Route - Return to the Ottawa Valley
Photographer Raymond Farand takes us back to the scenic Upper Ottawa Valley for a unique look at operations over Canadian National's Beachburg Subdivision prior to its abandonment through Algonquin Park in 1995. The feature also highlights continued operations over the remaining portion of the 'Valley Line' east of Pembroke, Ontario as it disappears from CN's system map and transitions into a short line owned and operated by Quebec Railway Corporation's Ottawa Central Railway.
