This is NOT a railroad book in regards to operation, history, statistics, etc. It IS a hobby book and the subject matter concerns the (1000 and 1) things you could collect with a railroad background.
It is written in TWO different and distinct styles from ordinary books.
1. I am going to write exactly like A LETTER TO A FRIEND. I am trying to pass on information from one person to another. I do not follow any set of rules as to composition, grammar, or punctuation. I capitalize, hyphen-ate, underline, etc. as I see fit, in order to get the message across. TYPOS will creep in no matter how hard I try and avoid them. These are typographical errors not corrected prior to publication. Look at any daily newspaper and see how many TYPOS you can find. Especially those with a strip of comics printed upside down or such. Even better yet where the "lead line" reads FAMILY OF SIX KILLED ON HIGHWAY 33 and then you read about a group of church ladies who held a pot luck supper last Thursday.
2. I have never believed in a lot of blank space and wide margins in books. Wide margins all the way around are the idea of paper manufacturers. It does not cost 1 more to print a full page than 1/2 page. As this is a SCRAPBOOK you will find odds and ends inserted here and there that make no rhyme or reason. It is simply my way of filling up blank areas. I feel that I am giving you all I possibly can for your money.
PRICES
Many people would like to see me put a valuation on each item illustrated. I admit that that would be real nice EXCEPT it would take twice as long, no two people would agree with me.(The sellers would say the prices were too low and the buyers would say the prices were too high) Finally I am planning on writing a Part II to this book, but NOT a revision. The moment you put prices in a book you must plan on new revised prices as time passes. So this is how I will price the material in this book.
Each and every single item is worth exactly what some person will pay for it. Not the price that some person asks for it. So I have summed it up in exactly 24 words. If you want $1000. 00 for something and you advertise it for sale at high bid and your ad reaches 50,000 interested people and the highest bid is $8. 00, then I would assume it was worth $8. 00 and then only to one single person out of 50,000.

All pictures are of the actual item.  There may be reflection from the lights in some photos.   We try to take photos of any damage.    If this is a railroad item, this material is obsolete and no longer in use by the railroad.  Please email with questions.
