Railroad Career Development Railway Systems & Management Assn 1965 Soft Cover 100 Pages
PREFACE
At this point in time the most important internal need of the Railroad Industry is the development of personnel. This book is an attempt to identify the training needs, and to demonstrate some approaches and resources for fulfilling these needs. Its primary purpose is to acquaint railroad management with the many facets of railroad career development, and to show the measurable benefits which accrue to the railroad that pursues an enlightened personnel program.
Although most of the text is concerned with the broad aspects of personnel development, two chapters deal specifically with the railroad freight salesmen. These a r e papers given at an RSMA workshop on "Yardstocks for Sales Performance" in the Spring of 1965. They are included because not only are they germane to the problem of career development, but more importantly, because they are graphic case studies in a critical area of railroad operations.
