the Pacific Northwest in the late 1800s to look for land and timber opportunities. They first formed the Hoquiam Timber Company, purchasing vast stands of immense trees in an area north of Grays Harbor, which were then cut down and processed through their Poison Brothers Logging Company. Poison crews called it \"01' Betsy,\" but history knows it better as the Northern Pacific Railroad's \"Minnetonka,\" first locomotive to come west over Washington's Cascade Mountains. After 30 years of logging service, the engine went back to the Northern Pacific in 1933 (for cash and a bigger engine).
