Now is the time for all good men (and women) to come to the aid of their Museum. We recently had an opportunity to purchase a locomotive that is essential to the collection. This is Burlington Route 3007, a 4-6-4 type, steam locomotive [page 3]. The acquisition price was considerably higher than we anticipated, and, in consideration of the prior acquisition of Santa Fe 2903 [page 9], we need an IMMEDIATE infusion of cash (translate "donations") to complete the purchase and bring the locomotive to Union.
May we suggest that you read John Humiston's article about the 3007, and then return the enclosed donation form along with your 1996 dues, and a generous donation to the CB&Q 3007 Fund. Remember, not only is your donation tax deductible, but you can stand next to the 3007 and say proudly, "I helped make this possible."
