Preserved Locomotives and Multiple Units by Fox & Sugden SECOND Edition 1984 The complete guide to all remaining ex-BR and constituent companies steam, diesel & electric locomotives; diesel & electric multiple units. 72 pages.
INTRODUCTION
This second edition of PRESERVED LOCOMOTIVES has been extended to cover diesel and electric multiple units in addition to steam diesel and electric locomotives. All former B.R. and constituent companies' locomotives and multiple units are shown whether preserved, dumped at Barry Scrapyard or in industrial service. The locomotives are arranged generally in numerical order of the B.R. number, except that very old locos which did not receive numbers in the series pertaining at nationalisation in 1948 are listed at the end of each pre-nationalisation company section. B.R. diesel locomotives are arranged in order of the "D" number. Notes regarding the class details are to be found on the inside front cover of this book.
