150th Anniversary 1823-1973
A few days before the D&H anniversary trip to Montreal on April 28, 1973, locomotive 653 is rolled out for a formal portrait on the Colonie yard track. No. 653 was used on the point of the train as a doubleheader with Northern 302 and 22 cars. D&H motif will be retained for the anniversary year by the owners, Steamtown U.S.A., for excursion and tourist operation.
