The last guard of the great Alco PA fleet that once pulled the big name trains of the country pose by the flag pole of the D&H shops at Colonie, N.Y. in May 1971, shortly after they finished their illustrious career, first on the Santa Fe and finally on the Montreal trains of the Delaware & Hudson - "The Laurentian" & "Montreal Limited". Retired along with their trains with the advent of Amtrak on May 1, 1971, these two units are now owned and operated by the Greenbrier Railroad of W. Virginia in occasional excursion service.
