The format of this listing remains essentially unchanged from that of the first listing for the years 1910 to 1919.
However, an explainatory note is in order. The volume numbers given with each individual listing are not those of either the Library or the publisher. They were devised by the author for his convenience in speedily recording the data. Their interpretation for any given year is as follows:
Vol. 1 - Jan. to Mar.
Vol. 2 - Apr. to June
Vol. 3 - July to Sept.
Vol. 4 - Oct. to Dec.
In certain cases, the magazines are bound by half-years rather than quarters. For consistency, these volumes are listed as:
Vols. 1 + 2 - Jan. to June
Vols. 3 + 4 - July to Dec.
in addition, it has been found that the Railway Age and Railroad Gazette merged publications in July of 1908. Hence, all listings before this date will be compiled separately for each magazine.
Finally, this listing has been expanded to include foreign railroads.
