This combined issue of Jersey Central Lines - Reading -Mauch Chunk Switch Back Ry. - is the result of excess materials made available to us for our other two books: "A Pictorial Review ... Central Railroad of New Jersey" and "A Pictorial Review... Reading Lines".
Many of the readers of the previous two books wanted to see and enjoy this material. Since we did not have enough to make a Volume 2 of each book we decided to combine into one book the additional photos, postcards, timetables, etc.
We have been approached by a number of our friends who desired to see and read about the Mauch Chunk Switch Back Railway. Inasmuch as the Central Railroad of New Jersey at one time actually owned the Mauch Chunk Switch Back, we felt that this would be a good time to include this historical data.
For much of the fine material in this book we want to thank Ed Miller, Andrew Patrick, Louis Goodwin, Francis Meaney, Jr. who hope, with me, that YOU will enjoy their photographs, timetables, post card views and related materials as illustrated in this book.
