Thanks to George for the following: Location is Omaha, NE at the UP's Omaha Shops. Probably early '50s, as the engines are clean, as if newly delivered. These were so-called "cow and calf" sets, consisting of one unit with a cab and a separate booster unit, connected with control cables, operated by the engineer in the cab. Used mostly in heavy switching and transfer service
