Subsequent successor to the Grand Trunk was the Canadian National in 1923. The Central Vermont had a small fleet of passenger equipment to serve the local needs of railway, but this fleet was also supplemented by CN and GTW cars from time to time. All four cars were steel-plated between 1924 and 1931. These coaches were followed by ACF's delivery of coaches #385-390 in 1912. This group also had a wooden car-body, steel underframe and six-wheel trucks, but the seating provided for sixty in the coach section and twelve in the smoking area. Both rode on six-wheel trucks and originally seated fifty-six in the coach section and fifteen in the smoking area.
