Volume 6 of the PASSENGER CAR LIBRARY includes all cars built by The Budd Company and American Car & Foundry [ACF] after 1930. This material is published with special agreement with BOMBARDIER INC., The St Louis Mercantile Library, the Museum of Transport - St Louis. Like the Pullman Standard cars, these cars linger in the minds of those who have lived through their creation, rode in them on the deluxe Limited's where they were assigned, and now own them as a remembrance to the great rail travel era. Many of these cars saw service on Amtrak and only a few remain today as Baggage, Crew, and Dining cars.
Just a comment about the Budd drawings contained herein. The originals were far too large to reproduce, so we had to select only those portions which are significant. Underbody and interior detail is shown when it was provided on the original. Every effort was made to show the drawings at 1/8" scale. However in the copying process, some may be slightly off of that scale. All of the dimensions shown on the drawings are reproduced. In most instances the originals showed only one side elevation and we used the floor plan to create the opposite side. There may be a few details that we overlooked and we apologize for this.
All pictures are of the actual item. There may be reflection from the lights in some photos. We try to take photos of any damage.
