O Gauge Modeler 1953 November December
BECAUSE OF recent increases in production costs and a lessening of general interest among the potential 0 Gauge modelers and manufacturers in the model railroad industry, 0 Gauge Modeler must be limited in its frequency of publication. Rather than suspend publication entirely, those associated with the magazine have decided to continue publishing OGM at less frequent intervals.
For the time being, OGM will be published bimonthly (every two months) which will mean that the next issue to come off the presses will not occur until February. Thereafter, an announcement will be made in each issue as to when the next issue will be published. During this period of limited circulation, all subscribers will have their current subscription extended accordingly.
It is our desire to keep producing OGM, even if it means publishing fewer issues per year. However, the matter of frequency is now being put squarely up to all current readers and the 0 Gauge modelers in this country. If you want a better magazine and a return to a monthly publishing schedule, then you will want to tell your friends and get them to subscribe. If every one of OGM's present readers would each get five new subscribers, we could confidently predict that OGM would return to its normal publication schedule with bigger and better issues. As for big issues, we have proved this possible last year, but more interest is necessary if such are to be produced again.
Since we have been honest about the present plight of OGM in expressing its need for greater income and support from the 0 Gauge public, the matter now rests squarely with all of you who can make the magazine or break it.
