Its consists during the winter months remained as originally assigned. However, in order to take advantage of travel to and from Yellowstone National Park, the North Coast Limited's consists included through Twin Cities-Yellowstone National Park sleeping cars, which were operated via Livingston beginning with the 1903 Park Season. Northern Pacific also established its Gardiner Gateway with the opening of its new passenger train station at this North Entrance to Yellowstone Park. In addition, the Northern Pacific began to assign new Pacific steam locomotives to the North Coast Limited .
