Most images of Norfolk and Western passenger service include bullet nosed class J locomotives leading a sleek tuscan red consist at speed in. the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. But that was only a part of the picture. N&W passenger service was never second best and was treated with great care by the railroad. This volume focuses closely on the era between the end of World War II and the end of the steam era on the original N&W; Norfolk to Cincinnati and Columbus and stops in between. This is a complete revision of the much smaller 1990 edition.
Many wonderful photos and a discussion on paint and lettering make this a valuable addition to anyone's N&W library.
