Norfolk and Western Magazine is published monthly (except  August) at Roanoke Va. Vol57 #. About the cover, Unit grain trains, like this one being loaded near Decatur, Illinois, transport large volumes quickly and at low cost to shippers. NW ran 416 such trains in 1978. Cars for the 100-car trains are built in Roanoke Shops.
NW's Traffic people believe that there is a potential for more than 600 trains a year. Overall grain and grain products revenues have shown a steady upward thrust, from $79.6 million in 1975 to $100 million in 1978.
