Norfolk and Western Magazine is published monthly at Roanoke VA. Vol37 #11. About the cover, THE FRONT COVER of this issue has for its theme the recently-approved merger of the Norfolk and Western and Virginian Railways. Both railroads appear in the picture, which was taken just west of Ripplemead, Va., from a high cliff overlooking New River and the present N. & W.-Virginian connection and crossover at Norcross. This point is also the junction of the N. & W.'s Potts Valley Branch, which crosses the Virginian at grade to reaeh important lime-produeing plants at Kimballton and Kerns, Va.
