N&W Norfolk and Western Employee Magazine 1950 January New Powhatan Arrow
ALL pages are RIPPLED, Pages are not stuck together.
Norfolk and Western Magazine is published every month in Roanoke, Va. ON THE FRONT COVER, the new Powhatan Arrow is pictured westbound along New River, just a short distance east of Dry Branch, home of Leonard A. Scott, retired N. & W. section man, who named, the Powhatan Arrow in 1946. This section of the railway's line is among the most scenic in the N. & W.'s territory and passengers aboard the new train get a sweeping view of the scenery from the train's wide windows.
With a new train, new sleeping cars, modernized passenger stations and other railroad equipment and facilities that are up to the minute in design and usefulness, the Norfolk and Western Family is ready for a new year of service to the nation. New equipment and facilities, alone, however, cannot guarantee the kind of service that the public wants and will buy. Our performance as railroaders must be just as top-notch in quality as our locomotives, trains and stations.Let's resolve to make that service in 1950 our very best!
