Pictured on the back is the movement of the General Solomon Meredith 22J double train chronograph by M.I. Tobias & Co., Liverpool, patented 1848. Previously described by George McLane (AL) in the February 1989 BULLETIN, #258, in Timely Voices, p. 54, the watch has an English lever escapement.
